“Left us hanging for sure”

Films: Backwoods (2020)

Alias: None

Type: Natural

Location: Forest

Height/Weight: That of an average human.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Once more, we have reckless youngsters heading into the wilderness, regardless of the urban legends that speak of horrible death and murder. And this time, it was a truly insidious act that led to another. But some petty kidnapping is nothing compared to being held prisoner by the Hangman in these parts.

History: Long ago in Crystalwood, AL, a mad recluse known only as the Hangman would murder any male intruders and kidnap the women as his brides. The authorities kept trying to get him, but in time, they were successful in shooting him dead. However, while everyone believed that his ghost still haunted the place, the truth is that his deformed son took up the mantle. Now, the new Hangman has found some new victims to either kill or keep.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After a while, the girl who got shanghaied into this whole mess gets her revenge by leaving the last perverted boy for dead so that the Hangman can claim him. The last time we saw the killer, he was wandering the woods again, the face of that loser in his hand...

Powers/Abilities: None.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 3-The Hangman is ultimately not all that different from any of the other backwoods killers we've seen. However, he does have a horribly disfigured and almost stony look to him. Or really, it looks like it got boiled hard at some point. Either way, a manic zealot who rapes and kills is never any laughing matter.

Trivia: -The Hangman was played by Scott Alan Warner, who has a history of playing bit roles in low-budget fare.

-This film was crowned "Best Horror Feature" for the Another Hole in the Head Warped Dimensions Film Festival in 2020.
